Sukob - Typoon Ondoy Benefit Show

Hey everyone!

On November 7th, in association with FLASH (Filipino League at Seton Hall), we are proud to announce our Typoon Ondoy Benefit show, at ARC 103, 7PM. All proceeds will go to typhoon victims in the Philippines.

Cost is either 5$ with a donation of medical supplies, or $10. Come out, it we have an amazing lineup of performers, and it’s all for a good cause! Spread the word:

RCDT First Meeting!

Hey guys! Hope you went to RDT’s tryout last night and had fun and ish.

Well, RAPS’s other dance troupe, RCulturalDT, is having their first meeting tonight for anyone interested in joining for the year. Please come out and see what we are all about and hopefully we can recruit you guys to be part of our team. It’ll also be a good way to meet Kat and Fred(me) and the older members as well. We are always growing and hope that this year we have another great turnout.

It’ll be at one of tables at the Student Center at College Ave at 8:30ish. Just look for a Golduck on someone’s Mac and that’ll be me. We may or may not have food. Hope to see you there!

RAPS Dance Troupe is holding open tryouts for the fall semester. Whether you’re an experienced hip-hop/modern dancer, or you’re someone with a passion for dancing who’d like to expand their repertoire, this is your opportunity to become part of an amazing dance team!

Be prepared to learn a few counts of choreography and possibly a little freestyle. Dress comfortably and bring your A game!

*We ask that you take into consideration the fact that we practice one to two times a week around 9:45pm (since many people are done with classes by this time), and practices can run as late as 12am/1am.

BARRIO FIESTA 2009

Hey everyone, it’s that time of the year again!

Our annual Barrio Fiesta - dinner and a play for your food + entertainment needs.

Official description:

Rutgers Association of Philippine Students proudly presents Barrio Fiesta 2009:
“MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES”
written and directed by Jon Pagtakhan

WHERE: LUCY STONE AUDITORIUM, LIVINGSTON CAMPUS
WHEN: SATURDAY, APRIL 18th
5:30 PM DINNER
7 PM SHOW
$10 for admission and DINNER (before show)

“MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES” follows the adventures of several Filipino-American college students attending the fictitious school of Pacific Bay University in California. We are introduced to unique and funny characters including: the typical valley girl, the nerdy geek, the suave and cool FOB, the weirdo, the effeminate man, the creepy goth, among others. The play focuses on the themes of assimilation, acculturation, and the struggles of being raised as a Filipino-American.

Come watch this show and experience lots of love, loss, and laughter. With performances by:

RCDT (RAPS Cultural Dance Troupe)
…along with other surprises! Definitely an event not to be missed!

Congratulations also to NYU’s International Filipino Association (IFA) for Best Modern Performance and Best Cultural Performance.
